Crayon Art Heart

You will need:
Large package of crayons
Canvas
Hot glue
Blow dryer (or a heat gun)
The first thing you want to do is to draw the outline of the heart you want onto the canvas. Since I'm not very good at free-handing, I used the following template, enlarged it in MS word, cut it out, and traced around it:

Then, lay a rough draft of your crayons out along the heart, with the ends touching your outline:

Next, super-glue those bad boys down! I personally think it looks best to have all of the labels facing the same direction (i.e. either the "Crayola" part showing, or not showing).

Finally, you'll want to turn the canvas around while you heat the crayons, so that the melting wax goes down in the direction that you want it to!

The finished product hanging in my kitchen:

  1. My first attempt turned out shocking! Crayons melted way too fast and all merged :(
